Define the process before choosing tools

This is a planning note, not an operating procedure or a guarantee that a particular machine can perform this task. The previous cross-material tool list, techniques and HowTo markup have been removed. Identify the exact material grade, coatings and contamination; obtain the machine and consumable manufacturer's instructions for that material and operation.

All welding fume can cause lung cancer. A competent process selection and fume-control assessment are needed; general ventilation alone is not a universal control. Alloy, coating, joint and service conditions remain unresolved here.

For cutting, grinding, sanding and finishing, check that the exact blade, wheel, abrasive or coating is rated for the material and machine. Assess dust, fume, ignition, noise and chemical exposure; PPE alone is not a substitute for the appropriate process controls.
